The Forest is a game that tests your survival skills in the woods.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be alone in the woods with only basic items for survival, then this game is one that you will want to play. From the visual components to the sounds, it's a realistic game that makes you feel like you're literally in the woods while you're playing.

This is a first-person game, so you see everything from the vantage point that you would if you were really in the woods. There is a bit of horror associated with the game in that you hear sounds that aren't recognizable until you actually see what's in front of you. The first thing that you have to do is find the items that are needed to build a shelter. It doesn't matter how big the shelter is as long as you have space to sleep. You also will want to build a fire as soon as possible.

Next you'll have to find food and a water source. If you don't find these essential items, your character will begin to go downhill quickly and will be dying at the end as you need to have food almost immediately after the game begins. It might seem like it's easy to find food, but it's really not as there are surprises around every corner. Some of the animals, and those who live in caves, are cannibalistic. They are only concerned about making a meal of you and preventing you from reaching your goal to survive. The graphics are good, but there are a few issues with the pixels as the game sometimes appears as though you're playing with a LEGO set.

Pros

  • Test your survival skills
  • Action at every turn
  • Realistic sounds and images

Cons

  • Quick death if you don't find supplies
  • Some graphics are sketchy
